As part of a team of professors at Whitman College, WWQ Fellow Kate Jackson has discovered a new species of snake!

The team of researchers has named the snake from the Democratic Republic of Congo the Radford’s house Snake.

The team discovered along the mountains of the Albertine Rift in Central Africa.  The snake can only be found only in this region and no where else in the world.  This makes the snake, a concern for conservationists because it needs to be better protected since there are so few.
