About the Event
The WINGS Women of Discovery Awards were established in 2003 to recognize extraordinary women making significant contributions to world knowledge and science through exploration.
Join us October 19, 2022, for a truly unforgettable evening honoring five new Women of Discovery and bold explorers, their innovative ideas and their unceasing quest to build a better world for us all.
Ophira Eisenberg, stand-up comedian and former host of NPR’s Ask Me Another, will be our host and emcee. A regular host with the storytelling group, The Moth, Ophira is featured in the best-selling book, Occasional Magic: The True Stories About Defying the Impossible.
Come experience an original dance program by award-winning tap dancer and choreographer Ayodele Casel who, like each of our honorees, brings “a spectacular display of … heart, skill and spirit” (New York Times) to her work and the challenges she has had to overcome in a male-dominated field.
Our popular Fellows Forum will be held the next morning, October 20, 2022. Come hear the 2022 Fellows present their most recent research and discoveries!
