WINGS Flag Carrier and filmmaker Rebecca Beyerly has recently launched a Kickstarter to help fund the completetion of her upcoming documentary Women of the Mountain. Apart from being a WINGS Flag Carrier, Rebecca Beyerly is also a journalist that has been featured in the New York Times, National Geographic, and Discover Magazine. Her latest adventure has been the making of “Women of the Mountain”, which highlights women from Asia, Europe, and North America as they run the world’s longest ultra marathons through the world’s highest mountain ranges. The film will also profile the lives of women who call these mountain ranges home and how they have built their livelihoods around the extreme terrain. To truly capture the triumphs and struggles that these women face in the film, Rebecca Byerly immerses herself by competing alongside the runners in the same races. This film showcases the inspiring stories of women who challenge themselves physically in 125-mile ultra marathons, and also challenge the boundaries that society sets for them.
